Thesis project

Now that I'm in Bergen, and my to-be-supervisor, Anders, is one of my lecturers, it's time for me to start thinking about my Master's thesis project.

My interest lies in schooling behavior and migration. But I'm stuck with how I want to take this since there are so many other papers on it. As soon as I think of something, I begin researching and see it has already been done!

Any outside ideas for me to work with??

  1. Hey, honey. Thesis work is tough but part of the work is benchmarking other papers to ensure uniqueness. However, your interests are unique. You may want to see what the public or private sector in Norway utilizes when they call on researchers and university consulting engagements. They may even pay you to write such a document! Your interest in ecology, thermoclines and the environment are also timely. And don't forget opportunities in ecotourism and photo journalism. These interests may well line you up for choices to choose from. The oceans and waterways touch our lives all over the world in profound and undiscovered ways. A delicate component to life. We love you! Dad & Mum

  2. Don't know much about migration and schooling behavior of fishes. How about "Anthropogenic effects on schooling behavior?" I thought it was interesting to think that schooling behavior might be one factor that caused the decline of the cod fish in New England!
